Paul Everhart

At an early age in Dayton, Ohio, Paul discovered that he had a talent for drawing and composition. All through his early schooling he produced sketches and carvings, which earned him an art course at the Dayton Art Institute. At the age of eighteen he received deluxe accommodations as a cartoonist on the naval ship's paper, for the forty-eight days enroute to Okinawa, Japan. He was also an artist on the “Okinawan” newspaper for a year.

Following the service, Paul received a BFA degree at Denver University where an excellent instruction in the visual arts was received. He later took art courses at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and has studied oil painting techniques continuously since college. Paul is most inspired by JS Sargent, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne, Vermeer and Stobart. Paul's many and varied paintings would indicate that his particular interests lies in portraits and landscapes. Paul also enjoys teaching art classes.

Paul states that composition and color still come naturally to him and he's always intrigued by transforming a blank canvas into a thing of beauty.

When not painting, he also enjoys designing and building furniture in his woodworking shop. His outside interests include tennis, sailing and he relaxes by reading and studying the old masters.
