My birth name is Gale Cora Dever.  I was born in Chicago, and am mostly of Irish heritage. I married Dave Doogan in the early sixties and spent the majority of my life raising a family in Willow Springs, Illinois. Along with painting I enjoy traveling, gardening, and nature. I live near the forest and find many inspirations for my work there, as well as places I travel to. I paint on location when possible, however I do enjoy afternoons in my studio. When weather does not permit an outdoor location I can be found there painting a still life. I pursued my passion for painting after marrying and starting a family.   After raising 4 children and running a small business with my husband, I decided that my great love of art should become a priority.  I have been working primarily with oils for about 25 years. I have studied with many fine painters over the years and feel that they have had a positive impact on my work.  I continue to attend workshops periodically and have participated in many art fairs. I am currently displaying my work in a few local galleries.
