Art is an inter-cultural, inter-racial language with no rules, barriers, or frameworks. It's an independent world woven from pieces of life as seen by the artist. I try to portray the human being as the ultimate union of nature and spirit. We must all recognize ourselves as delicate and vulnerable, nested within the vast cosmos. My art aspires to such plateaus of awareness and sensitivity via painted landscapes of the soul. I wrap my subjects inside sensual fantastical textures to enfold them and protect them. I take images from my surroundings, sift them through my unconscious, and thus derive my own interpretation of a reality. I paint ordinary subjects within extraordinary context, inviting the imagination to revel in the poetry of dreams and peace of self-recognition. We have a never ending love-affair with our surroundings, that holds endless potential for high tonalities of emotional drama and personal expression - our love letter to the world. Each of us despite the surroundings that seem to mold our perceptions, has the ability to see the world from our own particular inner vision.
